Good Start?

Hello all! Today, I’ll introduce everyone to this thing called Live & Bar.

Taken from their blog: “Live & Bar @ Platinum Club was established with the sole intention of providing patrons with high quality live music (regardless of genre i.e. indie, rock, acoustic), a warm ambience for anyone to chill out and knock back a nice cold beer whilst digging on bar snacks.”

If you have a band and wanna start playing gigs and get known, this is where you can start. All you have to do is attend a short audition and if they like your band, they’ll give you a 45-minute slot! Cool eh. So, if you’re really interested in promoting your band and taking it to the next level, I strongly recommend Live & Bar.

I think this is a wonderful idea and we should all support their initiative to promote music in Malaysia or specifically in the Klang Valley. So, guys and girls, ladies and gentlemen, tomboys and shemales, check out their BLOG.

Hey! Since this blog is still very new and ZERO people read it at the time being, ill like to recommend a few communities that is useful to those interested in music or even just to hang out and discuss.

First up, JAMTANK

This is a site I personally go to almost everyday. Note that you’ll have to sign up and activate via email but its worth it! For those into bands, you can share comments on bands locally or even find band members! Looking for equipments or thing to buy, there’s a classifieds section there where you can find buyers and sellers for almost anything. You can also discuss anything under the sun there with other members.

Trust me its worth the click! =D

Secondly, SMEEX

I’ve only recently discovered this site and so far it’s not bad other than the fact that it isn’t updated daily. There’s this cool system where you can instantly search for someone that is looking for a band. For example, you can search for a drummer that is looking for a band, and his profile will show up. There you can chat with him and get to know him and maybe recruit him ke apa. There’s also a forum there.

Next, YOuthsays

You can take surveys here and get paid! Besides that, you can also discuss your interests, current issues and make new friends. Have a blog? You can promote your broadcast your blog and get more readers. Finally, you can also ask questions and the network of youth will give you the anwers. Also just recently discovered this site and hoping to learn more about it. Cool idea for the Malaysian youth!

Ok that’s it for now. I know this is very amateur-ish so just bear with me. I’m still learning. =D
